North Korea fired another missile Sunday, but it blew up nearly immediately after it was launched, according to military officials in the United States and South Korea.

South Korean officials suspect the missile launched on Sunday could be of the same type. One of the missiles in particular caught the attention of South Korean military analysts watching via the North's state television broadcast.

Single-engine propeller-powered planes flew in a 105 formation overhead.

US Vice President Mike Pence, who is on a 10 day tour of Asia, is due to arrive in South Korea on Sunday in what his aides said is a sign of commitment to its ally.

Defense Secretary James Mattis said President Trump is aware of the North's latest military stunt from his Mar-a-Lago estate and that the commander-in-chief had no further comment.
