Manhunt for suspect in Facebook homicide video widens to 5 states

Police here said Stephens then posted a video of the shooting on Facebook and has fled.

Police say he allegedly killed an elderly man in Cleveland and posted a video of it on Facebook Live. While he could still be in OH, authorities have put neighboring states on alert to keep watch for Stephens. This violently graphic video raises an important question about the social sharing platform, especially given a spate of graphic videos posted to Facebook that have made national attention: Are violent videos allowed on Facebook Live?

Godwin's son, Robert Godwin Jr. told reporters his father had just finished an Easter meal when he encountered Stephens.

Despite Stephens' claims, there is still no evidence to prove his claim of killing more than a dozen people.

Philadelphia school officials said the lockdown was lifted at 2:55 p.m., roughly 2 hours after it began. Residents of Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and MI, in particular, are asked to be on the alert and told not to approach Stephens if they spot him.

"I want the public to know that we are on it", he said.

Obama aide says intel not used to spy on Trump advisers
Schiff has declined to comment on the contents of the documents, while Nunes has said they caused him concern. Rice has denied leaking the names of Trump's associates under surveillance by US intelligence agencies.

Authorities say Stephens is considered armed and unsafe and could be anywhere. The suspect did go live on the social media site at another point Sunday.

Williams said detectives spoke with Mr Stephens via mobile phone after the "heinous crime" but he had since slipped through the authorities' grasp.

Williams said Stephens may be driving a newer model white Ford Fusion. In the video, which has been widely shared online, Stephens, 37, reportedly said a woman's name and asked Godwin to repeat it.

She said her father, who had 10 children, was a gentle man with nothing mean about him. Stephens is not believed to have known Godwin, a retired foundry worker who media reports said spent Easter Sunday morning with his son and daughter-in-law before he was killed on camera in the street. "I am sorry that all of this has happened", the text message read, according to CBS.

People are expressing their condolences on Facebook to the family of Godwin Sr.

Police said they have not verified his claim to have committed other murders.

Police are urging Stephens to surrender before anyone else is hurt.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams says Lane is cooperating with authorities and is being protected.

Stephens is an employee at Beech Brook, a "leading behavioral health agency" in northeast Ohio.

An extensive background check before he was hired did not reveal anything that caused alarm, Beech Brook spokeswoman Nancy Kortemeyer said.

Late Sunday, police issued an aggravated murder warrant for him and say in a statement he may have traveled out of state.
