The man known as the "Facebook Killer" was found dead after a brief police pursuit in the USA state of Pennsylvania, authorities said on Tuesday.
"Steve Stephens was spotted this morning by [Pennsylvania State Police] members in Erie County", the state police said on its Twitter account.

Stephens is accused of shooting 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Sr., and posting video of the murder to Facebook.
She said she tried to reach him after the video was posted on Facebook but he never answered his phone.

Before shooting Godwin, Stephens instructed the man to say the name of his former girlfriend, telling the elderly man that, "She's the reason why this is about to happen to you". Stephens, who had no prior criminal record, was not suspected in any other killings, Cleveland officials said.
Tuesday marked the third day of the multistate manhunt for Stephens. He offered his condolences and reiterated the company's position that it will review its "reporting flows" so that users can flag video and other content that violates its policies. The news station reports that Stephens filed for bankruptcy two years ago.
Investigators said that Godwin was the only victim so far linked to Stephens, despite his claim on Facebook that he killed over a dozen people.
"He got to the second window of the drive-thru", said the owner, Thomas DuCharme, Jr.
