Mallya arrested in United Kingdom, released later on bail

Proclaimed offender industrialist Vijay Mallya was arrested in London by Scotland Yard on India's request for his extradition. With the interest in the elusive King of Good Times on its peak today, social media is having a field day.

The metropolitan police said Mallya was arrested after attending a central London police station. They were shot by lensman Atul Kasbekar for the famous Kingfisher Calendar.

Mallya has been living in the United Kingdom since having his diplomatic passport revoked a year ago and was only in attendance for the British Grand Prix last season - the Indian businessman previously was a permanent fixture on his team's pit wall. "Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Extradition Unit this morning arrested a man on an extradition warrant".

UK election talk builds ahead of surprise statement from May
The opinion polls might give the opposition no chance at the moment, but in two months time the numbers could look very different. Mr Cameron said she made a "brave - and right - decision", wishing the Conservative candidates the best via Twitter.

The judge must decide whether any of the statutory bars in the Act apply in the case, including health and human rights grounds. Last month, setting in motion the process of extradition of Mallya, the British government had certified India's request and sent it to a district judge for further action.

".but within one hour, Vijay Mallya got bail".

Will Mallya be also one of these cases? It also states that politically motivated extradition requests where a person is being sought to be brought back to the country for his political affiliations would also be not entertained.

But he noted that's nothing compared to what he did to Smith, who deserves all the support and sympathy he is receiving. Probst went on to praise Smith's composure after Varner's comment. "You can't unring the bell", Probst told Varner.

This sets the stage for what is going to be a long drawn out legal battle between Mallya and Indian agencies, the CBI as well as the Enforcement Directorate, over the Centre's move to bring him home to face the law for not repaying public sector banks thousands of crores he had borrowed for his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. There are legal ways to recover the money which is being initiated through auctioning of assets.

A court in January ordered a consortium of banks to start the process of recovering loans from the tycoon. These are the questions which BJP and Modi Ji need to answer instead of hoodwinking people of India, ' Surjewala told ANI. In fact, during UK PM May's visit to New Delhi previous year, the government handed over a list of 57 suspects to be extradited.

Tulsi said when there is a request for extradition then normally bail is granted only after 60 days, but Mallya was given the relief on the same day. The magistrate carried out several steps: ensured the arrested is the person named on the warrant, fixed a date for the start of the extradition hearing on May 17, which is within 21days of the date of arrest, informed Mallya of the contents of the European Arrest Warrant and explained that he could consent to surrender.
