Authorities offered few answers after Hernandez was found hanging from a bedsheet Wednesday in his cell in a maximum-security prison in MA, where he was serving a life sentence for the 2013 slaying of a onetime friend. Abreu and Furtado were killed a vehicle after leaving a Boston nightclub in July 2012, weeks before Hernandez reported to Patriots camp ahead of his third and final season with the Patriots. He took to Twitter, saying, "Absolutely no chance he took his own life".

However, Hernandez's former agent Brian Murphy and his lawyer Jose Baez expressed disbelief upon hearing the news.

Then the worst possible scenario occurred whne Hernandez was selected in the 4th round of the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, whose home at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachussetts - just two hours away from Bristol. "Aaron was looking forward to an opportunity for a second chance to prove his innocence". Hernandez was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

Although Hernandez didn't leave behind any type of letter, it appears that he did take a marker and write something on his own body prior to his death.

The Patriots had no immediate comment, and President Donald Trump made no mention of Hernandez at the White House event.

As the Associated Press reported, prosecutors accused Hernandez of opening fire on their vehicle because he felt disrespected when one of the men bumped into him and spilled his drink at a Boston nightclub.

The attorney is calling for a "transparent and thorough investigation" into the death of his client. He was not charged in the 2012 killings until 2014.

Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Communications Christopher Fallon also says Wednesday that officials had no concern that Hernandez was planning on taking his own life.

Hernandez had been housed in a single cell in a general population unit at the maximum-security state prison in Shirley, Massachusetts. He attempted to block the door of his cell from the inside by "jamming the door with various items", authorities added.
