4 Dead 4 Injured in Crash Involving CTA Bus

Four people are dead and five others injured after a vehicle collided head-on with a CTA bus on the Near West Side Sunday morning.

The pin-in crash occurred at about 5:55 a.m.in the 2600 block of W. Madison St.in the city's Garfield Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Bernard "Bee" Chatman, 27, was behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Police did not immediately release the identities of those who died.

A third woman, aged 23, was also killed but has not yet been identified, ABC7 reports.

Four of those victims were pronounced dead, according to Chicago police.

The driver and all three female passengers in the auto died.

Chatman had a young daughter, Moore had three children and Fairley was pregnant with her third child, according to ABC7.

The auto was speeding west when it hit a parked vehicle, lost control and struck the bus head-on, the Chicago Sun Times reported.

Another witness, Jbria Demery, said: 'I heard the tire skid and then I heard the impact. "We were trying to get the doors to open up, but it was too much".

All four people within the auto were pronounced dead, police said.

Tannehill says officers from the department's major-incident unit are at the scene.
