Murdoch's 21st Century Fox wants to control the 61 per cent of Sky it does not already own and United Kingdom regulators have until June 20 - after the general election - to review the bid.

A BBC reporter approached him recently in Manhattan after the mogul refused a proper interview, asking if Murdoch is anxious about how the "Fox scandal" might affect his deal to fully acquire European TV giant Sky, or if "what's happening at Fox News" will be bad for future deals.

She claimed she was sacked in retaliation for reaching out to Paul Weiss attorney Michele Hirshman about the alleged mistreatment, a charge that Fox News immediately denied. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Simpson Thatcher Bartlett are also advising 21st Century Fox on the deal. "At some point, when a company has identified a problem, called in a law firm to clean up the problem and change the culture, there's not much more you can do, and I would suspect that would be recognized".
