United Kingdom may reverse Brexit post polls: EU Parliament President

Jeremy Corbyn

Corbyn, who voted to leave the European Union membership in 1975 but supported "Remain" previous year, has been criticised for muddling the party's position on Brexit.

Mr Tajani last week said his priority for Brexit was "defending the rights of our citizens" affected by the UK's decision to withdraw from the EU.

Asked why she was refusing to take part in TV debates with other party leaders during the election campaign, Mrs May said: "I've been doing head-to-head debates with Jeremy Corbyn week in and week out since I became Prime Minister".

That said, although he is a notoriously poor media performer, Mr Corbyn's first major election speech yesterday showed a bit more focus and energy and will be regarded as a reasonable start.

Corbyn dismissed the view held by some commentators that a Conservative victory in the upcoming election was a foregone conclusion.

You try and stay true to the ideas, you work until every element feels correct, and then you see how they go out into the world. Really, if I'm looking exclusively for a formless reflection of life, I can just turn off the TV or close the book.

Labor has also ruled out a second referendum on European Union membership if they are elected on 8 June.

"It's a choice between strong and stable leadership under the Conservatives or weak and unstable coalition of chaos led by (Labour leader) Jeremy Corbyn", May said on Wednesday, after winning backing from the British parliament to hold the snap election.

The Labour leader cast the June 8 poll as a battle of "the Establishment versus the people", as he promised to overturn a "rigged system" which allowed the rich and powerful to extract wealth from the nation.

He was defiant about Labour's chances of causing an upset in June's election.

Notwithstanding the unpredictability of British politics nowadays, May's Conservative Party is expected to win the election handily.

If one looks at the head-to-head record, Djokovic has been mighty impressive, winning 13 matches and only losing four. Zverev will next face fifth-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic , who defeated Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2.

His local party says it is ready for the campaign - while the Conservatives have yet to even choose a parliamentary candidate. Tajani's comments appear to reflect concern that concluding the negotiations so close to a national vote would have forced May to seek a more hardline Brexit settlement in order to please core Conservative voters.

While many specific policy positions have yet to be filled out, both May and her finance minister, Philip Hammond, gave the first indications on how the party's spending plans on key voter issues like foreign aid, pensions and tax will look.

With Scottish Nationalists pressing for a second independence referendum, Martin said, "the mad, bad, and unsafe should be a particular target of a save Britain campaign". The European Parliament will have to approve any deal agreed between Britain and the 27-member EU.

Tajani said his meeting with May had been "positive".
