A congressional source said the bill would ban tourist travel by Americans outright, while any other visits would require a special license from the Treasury Department, which is enforcing a wide range of sanctions on North Korea over its nuclear and missile programs.

The Missile Defense Agency said in its FY2018 Budget Overview that it would deploy eight additional ground-based interceptors in Alaska by the end of 2017, for a total of 44 overall "to improve protection against North Korean and potential Iranian ICBM threats as they emerge". The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency, which is responsible for developing and testing the system, has scheduled the intercept test for Tuesday.

Although the USA did commit atrocities against North Koreans during the Korean war, that doesn't grant them the legitimacy to develop nuclear weapons, said Sun.

G-7 source: US gets more time for climate pact answer
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the G-7 leaders "put forward very many arguments" for the USA sticking with the agreement. The gap between Trump and other G-7 leaders on climate underscored his isolation from Europe on some major issues.

John Schilling, a missile expert contributing to Washington's 38 North think tank, estimated it would take until at least 2020 for North Korea to be able to develop an ICBM capable of reaching the USA mainland and until 2025 for one powered by solid fuel.

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that a "major, major conflict" with North Korea is possible over its weapons programs, although U.S. officials say tougher sanctions, not military force, are the preferred option. There are no restrictions on travel to the country despite recent tensions over its reported development of a new missile capable of reaching Japan and major USA military bases.

North Korea, through Chinese diplomats, has repeatedly floated the idea of curbing their nuclear and missile testing programs if the USA would just stop the frightening exercises.
