Trump makes G-7 deal on trade, takes rain check on climate

US President Donald Trump is likely to withdraw from the landmark Paris climate change agreement which was a major foreign policy legacy of his predecessor Barack Obama, media reports said on Wednesday.

"I will be announcing my decision on Paris Accord, Thursday at 3:00 P.M. The White House Rose Garden".

The accord, agreed on by almost 200 countries in Paris in 2015, aims to limit planetary warming in part by slashing carbon dioxide and other emissions from the burning of fossil fuels.

Two major news outlets Axis and CBS News reported that the US President had made a decision to withdraw from the Paris agreement on climate change and the administration has been informing world leaders about it. Withdrawing would leave the United States aligned only with Russian Federation among the world's industrialized economies in rejecting action to combat climate change.

Trump hails "unbreakable" bond between US and Israel
The two have publicly disagreed over a number issues, including one of Trump's key campaign talking points - open borders. Israel seized east Jerusalem during the 1967 war and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the global community.

More on this as it develops.

The head of the European Commission accused the US administration on Wednesday of seeking bi-lateral trade deals with individual EU states, and said he would block any such attempt to break the bloc's unified position on trade.

"They say: 'We do not want to negotiate with you as a European Union, but with each member state separately, '" Juncker said. She said the agreement "honors our collective moral responsibility to leave future generations with a planet that is clean, healthy and sustainable".

Trump promised during his presidential campaign to pull the USA out of the deal. It is the first step to try to do something about climate change. He calls the expected withdrawal "a big setback". "Climate solutions provide opportunities that are unmatchable".

A spokesperson for the network, Mike Noble, said none of the other hospitals in the network use eClinicalWorks software. Last year, the OIG indicated it would conduct a close review of Medicare EHR incentive payments to providers.

A day earlier, Trump on return from his maiden overseas trip met with Pruitt. Such an assertion stands in defiance of broad scientific consensus.

Speaking Wednesday, press secretary Sean Spicer said he wasn't sure whether Trump had made a final decision on withdrawing from the Paris agreement.

Axios said details of the pullout are being worked out by a team that includes EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. Like his boss, Pruitt has questioned the consensus of climate scientists that the Earth is warming and that man-made climate emissions are to blame. The president of Exxon Mobil wrote Trump personally stressing the importance of maintaining a seat at the global negotiating table.

"This would be a colossal mistake", said Nick Burns, who served as under secretary of state during George W. Bush's administration. Forty Democratic senators sent Trump a letter urging him to stay in, saying a withdrawal would hurt America's credibility and influence on the world stage. Beijing, however, has reaffirmed its commitment to meeting its targets under the Paris accord, recently canceling construction of about 100 coal-fired power plants and investing billions in massive wind and solar projects.
