Scott's 2017 Indy 500 run may have been over before it began.

Dixon will start on the pole for the third time in Sunday's Indy 500 as he aims to repeat his 2008 victory at the famous oval.

Takuma Sato starts fourth on the inside of row two, beside team-mate Alonso, who will have J.R. Hildebrand outside him.

"Obviously, I'm glad they're okay", Kanaan told reporters, according to ESPN. Jerry Punch on ABC after his four-lap qualifying effort. Thanks to the whole team. Luyendyk's average was 236.986 with a best lap of 237.498.

IndyCar driver Scott Dixon's Sunday was something of a mixed bag. While numerous other drivers seemed to come within inches of the wall, Dixon had no such issues.

This year is particularly confounding after Dixon qualified with a four-lap average of 232.164 miles per hour - the fastest attempt since Arie Luyendyk's track record 236.986 in 1996.

After Scott Dixon cruised his way to the pole position of the 2017 Indianapolis 500 on May 21, he found himself at the end of a gun, being robbed at a Taco Bell!

For a few minutes, it looked like two-time Formula One champ Fernando Alonso had a chance to become the first rookie to win Indy's top starting spot since 1983. Hopefully that can happen again. He ran every lap at much the same speed - 231.674 mph, 231.811 mph, 231.250 mph and 231.036 mph. "Because I need to be", Alonso said in a profound outpouring published by "The Players Tribune". "I'm happy with the performance".

However, he would gradually slide down to the middle of the second row with Ganassi's Scott Dixon take pole position with a 232.164mph run.

"It was hard, a lot harder than yesterday".

Here's a look at how the rest of the Fast Nine finished.

"So they went to a fast food".

Here's a look at the remaining rows of the competition.

Alonso is skipping Sunday's F1 Monaco Grand Prix in order to compete at Indy, with Jenson Button replacing him in a woefully underperforming McLaren.

The No. 18 will start from the back of the field after failing to make a qualifying attempt after Bourdais' frightening crash Saturday.
