General election: 'Fleet of foot' Labour Brexit pledge

Regardless of how you plan on voting in the general election, there's no denying that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been far more active in engaging with younger voters.

British Prime Minister Theresa May's lead over the opposition Labour party has nearly halved to eight points in the space of a week, an opinion poll from Panelbase showed today.

The Conservative leader was asked why she had changed her mind on holding an election, and on her position towards the United Kingdom leaving the European Union.

But will either of our guests be courageous enough to predict the results for general election 2017?

But speaking in Basildon, Essex, Corbyn was adamant there would be no deals.

In her speech, Mrs May said voters had the opportunity to reaffirm last year's referendum vote for Brexit by backing her to carry on in Downing Street.

Ravens TE Pitta injures hip again; status for 2017 uncertain
But after sitting out the 2015 season, Pitta made a decision to return even though he knew he could dislocate his hip at any time. Pitta, 31, has been with the Ravens since he was drafted in the fourth round out of Brigham Young in 2010.

A group of eight protesters waited outside the venue, wearing Tim Farron and Nicola Sturgeon masks, carrying banners which read "I love taxes" and "I'll prop you up Jeremy".

The publication admitted that the Liberal Democrats were "going nowhere" in this election, but said it hoped the party would become part of a "radical centre", if the "whirlwind unleashed by Brexit" tears apart the main parties.

Andrew Ingram, a 30-year-old student and local Tory party member, said: "This area has been let down by the Labour party so much", he said.

Britain's Prime Minister and Conservative party leader Theresa May delivers a speech at Ultima Furniture, while on the General Election campaign trail, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, England, Thursday June 1, 2017.

May said the government had "had to take some hard choices across the public sector" to curb spending and reduce the country's deficit, as there was "no magic money tree".

The Tories would still be the largest party in a hung parliament even if Labour finished ahead of them in the share of the vote. Labour will ensure people are not held back.

On the BBC's Question Time special Theresa May was asked why anyone should believe anything she said after a litany of U-turns and refusals to answer questions.

"While countries including China, Brazil, the USA and the Gulf States have expressed their interest in striking trade deals with us as soon as they can", the Conservative Party leader said. "That issue is not in doubt", he said.

"But they, too, would raise the drawbridge", it said in an editorial.

She warned that putting Corbyn in charge of the upcoming delicate negotiations with European Union leaders would be a disaster because he "doesn't have a plan" and "doesn't believe in Britain". Replying to a reporter's question, she said: "The truth is we are fighting to win and we are fighting to win with a majority".

But Brexit Secretary David Davis acknowledged that the Tories can not promise to hit the target, which has been missed over the past seven years since first being formulated by David Cameron.

Theresa May's snap election gamble looking like a bad bet
They showed Theresa May's party might lose 20 of the 330 seats it holds , with Jeremy Corbyn's Labour gaining almost 30 seats. Patrick Sturgis, who chaired the inquiry into what went wrong in 2015 election polling, made a similar point.
