A surprise in the United Kingdom election would make Brexit an open question

The veteran politician campaigned to hundreds of supporters on Buchanan Street with General Election polls opening in less than 24 hours. No election in modern times has seen such large movement in the polls over such a short period.

For example, the Conservatives now hold a majority in Parliament, but with a reduced Conservative majority following the election, the Investec analysis shows a weakened pound, with Prime Minister Theresa May facing greater political challenges when trying to introduce legislation, particularly relating to Brexit.

If correct, ComRes' poll, a survey of 2,051 adults conducted this week, would give the Conservatives 362 seats, an increase of 31 on their current majority.

In the blue corner - traditional color of the Conservative Party - is May, a 60-year-old lawmaker known in her party as a quietly effective operator. Why would the European Union offer us a good deal when they know they can offer us a bad deal and then we'll vote to Remain because the deal was so bad?

Conservative Prime Minister Theresa May and labour leader Jeremy Corbyn scheduled eve-of-polling whistlestop campaigns, targeting urban areas whose vote could be crucial.

Mr Corbyn is spending his final day campaigning focusing on Labour's plans to provide £37billion additional funding for the National Health Service over the next Parliament - and warning it will not survive another five years of Tory austerity. Supporters see him as a refreshingly authentic alternative to the pro-business, budget-cutting Conservatives.

But depending on polling methodology, victory could range from around 50 seats to a loss of seats and even no majority at all. He could form a left-wing "progressive alliance" with the SNP and Liberal Democrats. More than 75% of members of parliament (MPs) voted to remain in the European Union, but almost 60% of constituencies voted to leave.

People need to stop suggesting a hard or soft Brexit and realise that there were two options on the ballot paper previous year - to Leave or Remain in the European Union.

Addressing the cheering crowd early on Wednesday morning, Corbyn said: "I want a Labour government that measures its success by reductions in inequality and poverty in our society".

May's critics inside the party blame her over-reliance on the advice of a handful of key aides and their failure to consult more widely before deciding on policies and strategies. It was also accused of being in "chaos" after the PM said she had aimed at reaching the debatable target before 2022 and was undermined by her Brexit secretary later.

The Conservative Party's election manifesto, which carries May's imprimatur, has been accused of offering voters all stick and no carrot. "Her leadership, then, isn't that strong or that stable".

Two deadly attacks transformed the campaign, pushing terrorism and security to the top of the agenda.

Mili Hernandez told Omaha's WOWT-TV that tournament organizers thought she was a boy because of her short hair. Tovar said she is a shy girl with short hair who transforms into a fierce competitor on the soccer field.

Corbyn attacked her for slashing police numbers during her ministerial spell, and vowed to hire more police for neighbourhood patrols. London was hit in March and in June, and the city of Manchester was targeted in May.

Mr Corbyn will sweep the length of the country today, beginning in Scotland and finishing in London, while the Prime Minister - who has spent much of her election campaign in the Labour heartlands - will focus on the South East, Eastern England and the Midlands.

But even that looks to be up in the air as Jeremy Corbyn's Labour party approached the Conservatives in opinion polls leading up to Thursday's elections, with the terror attack on London Bridge on Saturday adding uncertainty to voters' intentions.

University of London professor Eric Kaufmann agreed, but noted that traditionally turnout among young people in British elections was low.

Britain will head to the polls on Thursday as the issue of terrorism continued to dominate the agenda, and as both parties sough to get the upper hand in the debate on security, following three terrorist attacks in the country in as many months.
