What's next for Trump nemesis James Comey?

Another matter that promises to stretch out this whole affair is the view by retired Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz that the president has a constitutional right to terminate the Federal Bureau of Investigation director any time he wishes. Comey merely testified that the FBI investigation into possible collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign did not extend to Trump himself during the time Comey was leading the FBI. There had been some question as to whether the hearing would be open to the public, but the Justice Department said Monday he requested it be so because he "believes it is important for the American people to hear the truth directly from him".

In his statement on Thursday, Kasowitz said Comey admitted that he is "one of the leakers" and his "excuse for this unauthorized disclosure of privileged information appears entirely retaliatory".

It is well established-among both Republicans and Democrats-that "interfering or endeavoring to interfere with" an FBI investigation constitutes an impeachable offense.

And, despite Trump's low approval ratings nationally, his core base of supporters remains firmly behind him.

The White House has denied collusion with Moscow.

LeBron holds his head high
With last night's win, Durant finally won the National Basketball Association championship that eluded him for almost a decade. He's the only one I looked at and said he's the only guy that could look me eye to eye and I knew it was going to be a battle.

"The nation of Qatar unfortunately has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level", Trump said in a joint press conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the While House.

Testifying one month after Trump fired him, Comey said he lost his job because of the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 USA election.

But Comey also confirmed that Trump was not being probed.

The House committee also asked Comey to turn over his notes on the Trump conversations. "Lordy, I hope there are tapes", Comey said, suggesting such evidence would back up his account over the presidents.

Comey's carefully crafted memos are laden with contemporaneously recorded details and verbatim quotes that could easily lay down a path for investigators, and already have been turned over to Mueller.

LeBron James: Cleveland Cavaliers will continue building toward NBA Championship
Tristan Thompson's 15 points for Cleveland in game five surpassed his tally in the the first four games combined (13 ). He finished the evening with 10 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals in 44 minutes of play.

Ryan and other Republicans explained away Trump's interactions with Comey as the understandable blunders of a Washington neophyte.

"It's no secret to anybody that this president is not experienced in the ways of Washington, of how these investigations work", said GOP Sen. "Why would you kick the attorney general, the chief of staff out to talk to me if it was about something else?"

The true answer of whether Trump committed a crime will likely fall to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, something Comey pointed out during his testimony. And he can expect questions about his involvement in Comey's May 9 firing, the circumstances surrounding his decision to recuse himself from the FBI's investigation, and whether any of his actions - such as interviewing candidates for the FBI director position or meeting with Trump about Comey - violated his recusal pledge.

Trump on Friday called on Qatar to stop funding terrorism. "And we're going to hand the gavel to Pelosi in 2018", McSally said, referring to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California. "The path to that gavel being handed over is through my seat". And right now, it doesn't matter that it's me, it doesn't matter what I've done.

A litmus test comes in two weeks when voters chose a new House member in a competitive Georgia district, where a GOP loss would unnerve some two dozen incumbents like McSally.
