China says bomber died in kindergarten blast

Beijing, June15:A blast was reported at a kindergarten in a city in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, with at least a dozen people believed to be injured.

Graphic video posted on state media showed dozens of adults and young children lying still on the ground at the school.

One image shows a woman clutching a sobbing child as paramedics treat the wounded.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

An explosion has struck the entrance to a kindergarten in eastern China.

As the video ended, you can see several people rushing to the aid of one of the victims who was wounded in the baseball infield. In a statement, Capitol Police said Griner was in "good condition in the hospital, having been shot in the ankle".

Pictures and videos posted online showed several people lying outside the gate of the kindergarten. As per latest reports, the blast has left at least seven dead and more than 59 injured.

There is no word on the injury or death toll and police are investigating the matter.

Calls to the kindergarten and local hospitals rang unanswered.

It is not immediately clear whether the explosion was deliberately triggered, or the result of an accident.

An eyewitness surnamed Shi told the Global Times newspaper that the blast was caused by an explosion of a gas cylinder at a roadside food stall.
