Kerala Police has sought a brain mapping and lie detector test, along with a detailed medical check-up, for the woman who had bobbitised a godman in Thiruvananthapuram last month while reportedly resisting his rape attempt.

The police made the request at a local court in the capital, after the woman claimed the police has been fabricating stories about the case.

After the May 18 incident, the woman told police that the "godman" had been raping her since she was a minor and that he made sexual advances at her that day too, and in retaliation she assaulted him with a knife.

Sources attributed the twists and turns in the case to pressure tactics by Ganeshananda's followers.

In the statement given to the police, soon after the incident last month, the woman revealed she chopped off the 54-year-old Ganeshananda's genitals, as he repeatedly harassed her sexually. However, later, she turned hostile and defended the godman in a letter, purportedly written by her, which was submitted to the court by the defence lawyer. Her frequent change of statements has put the investigation team in a fix.

She alleged that one of the three aides, Ayyappadas, had attacked the so-called godman. She has maintained that she no longer has faith in the police probe and wished for a CBI probe in the case.

On face value, it's one of the more puzzling decisions so far, even if the Golden Knights don't scoop up Mrazek. Also, Vegas could have teams call and ask the Knights to pick a player such as Mrazek and offer them a trade.

However, the woman changed her statement earlier this week and said that the godman never misbehaved with her. She said the police fabricated the story.

The case has attracted national attention and there was uproar when police tried to register a case against the woman for attacking the "godman".

Congress MP and author Shashi Tharoor was trolled for suggesting that the woman should have approached the police instead of taking law into her hands.
