Report Celtics talking trade with 76ers for top pick in NBA Draft

Celtics GM Danny Ainge isn't stupid.

The trade is significant for the Phoenix Suns considering they sit No. 4 in the draft, and their former asset is included in the deal. Congratulations. That's a Hall of Fame accomplishment. Just a shame the stakes had to be so high.

While next season will be a transition year - as could the next two to three years - the future could look like this: Simmons on the ball, Fultz creating off it and Embiid growing into his role as the 76ers' best player. "I'm very proud to be a part of it along with all of us". On first glance, the difference might not be huge.

Ainge and the Celtics now have some ability to build a victor that could last more than a half-dozen years.

But the difference is far more meaningful than that.

Boston still had the No. 1 overall pick. Look at the list itself. In that scenario a trade of the picks would be allocated to acquiring a rebounder like Davis. It will be finalized with definite pieces involved come Monday. According to CBS Sports, Jackson becoming No. 3 will depend on who Magic Johnson will choose as the Lakers' No. 2 pick.

Chelsea will not bow to Antonio Conte demands over one key aspect
Chelsea are reportedly lining up Luis Enrique to become their next manager in the event of Antonio Conte leaving Stamford Bridge. The latest reports claim that Eden Hazard will be staying at Chelsea , but Antonio Conte may be set for a quick exit.

Many times, the Bulls have said Butler is with the Bulls and they're happy with that in a way, but they really haven't committed to him like you think you would with a top-15 player in the league. It's to get a franchise-altering superstar. Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have won 19 of the past 27 championships. If one of those players are selected, could it be apart of a bigger trade?

The deal obviously comes with some mixed feelings from both Celtics and Sixers fans, with some fans in Boston upset about losing their first no. 1 pick in decades, and some in Philly upset about the haul they give up to get the pick.

It's been presumed that, if not Fultz, then it was Kansas' Josh Jackson that Ainge wanted.

We know there are targets the Celtics have an interest in, starting with Jimmy Butler in Chicago. That's the ultimate goal, and if you win one then whatever you did to get there short of enabling violent crime is justified. It's to get one great one and build a roster that complements him. This is exactly the kind of situation where a team that's collected assets like Philadelphia has should cash them in.

"If you're a Philly fan, you've got to be thrilled".

That's what makes this trade so hard to swallow for the Celtics.

Theresa May 'welled up' in meeting with Grenfell families, says reverend
But public anger has been swelling, with furious residents heckling May and storming the local authority headquarters on Friday. A second protest began later at Britain's Home Office, which oversees fire prevention and policing nationally.

In Ainge's mind, this type of trade seems to be the best possible way to return Boston to its roots. He is considered a sure-fire top-3 pick but not a consensus No. 1. Probably not, no. But the Sixers don't have the No. 1 pick next year.

The Sixers running their halfcourt offense through Ben Simmons would be a terrific match for Ball's deficiencies in that area, making it logical to see him as the pick for Philadelphia at No. 3 if the Lakers passed on him. They had the leverage to demand that.

And that's if they deal the No. 3 pick, plus the Lakers' and Kings' picks.

An MVP is more valuable than two All-Stars.

Three-time Stanley Cup champion goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, Nashville forward James Neal and Anaheim defenseman Sami Vatanen are among the high-profile players available for the Vegas Golden Knights to select in the National Hockey League expansion draft.
