The CBI had initiated a preliminary inquiry against Satyendar Jain in April to probe the allegations of money laundering against him.

The CBI went to Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain's residence on Monday to quiz his wife in connection with the alleged money laundering case. Media Advisor to Sisodia, Arunoday Prakash has accused the central government of trying to silence dissenters. Jain holds several portfolios in the Arvind Kejriwal government.

The Aam Aadmi Party has claimed that the two men - named Sanjay and Suresh - whom the CBI has accused of transacting with Hawala operators on behalf of PWD minister Satyendar Jain, do not exist. This came a few days after a CBI team visited deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia at his house to record his statement in its preliminary enquiry into the "Talk to AK" programme.

Markets show little reaction to rate increase
Analysts said the rate hike was fully expected, but the central bank's more hawkish tone was somewhat surprising. In a separate report from the Labor Department's, Consumer Price Index declined 0.1 percent in May.

The CBI reached there as per time given by Satyendra Jain's wife for certain clarifications in ongoing investigation in money laundering case.

Allegations against Mr. Jain also include purported money laundering to the tune of ₹11.78 crore in 2010-12 through these companies and Indometal Impex Pvt. Ltd.

The senior Republican suffered extensive injuries and was in critical condition on Wednesday night. The shooter, identified as James Hodgkinson, 66, of IL , was shot and killed by law enforcement.
