One dead, 10 hurt in new London attack

A vehicle struck pedestrians on a north London road early Monday morning, causing several casualties, police said.

A witness, who wanted to be identified as Abdulrahman, which is not his real name, told the Press Association the driver said "I want to kill Muslims" before being held down by members of the public. He's "been taken to hospital as a precaution", where he'll receive a mental health assessment, according to the statement.

Another eye witness has told Sky News that there were three men in the van. Many worshippers were said to have been in the area after attending evening prayers as part of the Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.

Prime Minister Theresa May says police are treating the incident "as a potential terror attack".

Representatives of the Muslim Council of Britain said the incident was a "violent manifestation of Islamophobia".

That was in response to a spate of recent ballistic missile tests which violate United Nations sanctions. Analysts say the latest test appeared to be aimed at keeping up pressures on Moon to wrest concessions.

The Metropolitan Police (MET) said one person has been detained at the scene.

A van that ploughed into worshippers outside a mosque in London on Sunday night has killed one person and injured eight people in what the government described as "a horrific terrorist attack".

The incident took place outside the Muslim Welfare House on Seven Sisters Road, not the nearby Finsbury Park Mosque. People are reporting of several injured, some fatalities.

"There was this white van stopped outside Finsbury Park mosque that seemed to have hit people who were coming out after prayers had finished".

London's Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation into the attack. "I think (the road he took) is a blocked road - It's not even a through road", he said.

The community also led a standing ovation and cheered for a fire truck as it drove though towards the north Kensington tower. May herself had come in for a barrage of criticism for failing to visit residents and her response to the disaster.

It comes after two deadly Islamist attacks this year that used vehicles to ram pedestrians - one earlier this month in the London Bridge area and a March attack in which a man drove a auto into crowds on Westminster Bridge.

Police say a suspect was arrested immediately after the attack, which is being treated as a terrorist incident.

An arrest has been made in connection with the incident.

London Ambulance Service said in a statement that a number of ambulance crews, paramedics and specialist responses teams to the scene. "Everybody was shouting: "A van's hit people, a van's hit people", she said.

Also, reports quoted Theresa May as calling the situation at Finsbury Park mosque a "terrible incident".

Mexico equalised eight minutes later through a Javier Hernandez diving header after poor defending by the Portuguese. Minutes after coming on, he almost scored a great headed goal but Ochoa came up with a terrific save.

I have also spoken with community organisations in the area, local MP Jeremy Corbyn and leader of the council Richard Watts.
