Thanks for confirming the obstruction investigation, Mr. President

During an early morning tweet storm Friday, President Donald Trump confirmed he is being investigated for firing former FBI Director James Comey.

Deputy Attorney-General Rod Rosenstein submitted a widely circulated memo to the President last month raising concerns over Mr Comey's performance, but Mr Trump later asserted that he had already made the decision himself to fire Mr Comey.

The FBI's special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election has turned its attention to President Donald Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, according to a report in The Washington Post.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions declined to reveal what he and Trump have discussed about the Russian Federation probe or the decision to fire Comey.

Comey was sacked by the president on May 9 while he was overseeing the investigation into potential Russian interference into last year's election and potential collusion with the Trump presidential campaign.

Mr Trump yesterday announced the partial reversal of Barack Obama's Cuba policy, reimposing restrictions on travel and business in a move he said would "empower the Cuban people and hold the regime accountable".

Trump advisers and confidants describe the president as increasingly angry over the Russian Federation investigation, yelling at television sets in the White House carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy to discredit - and potentially end - his presidency.

People familiar with the matter told the Post that the investigation into Trump for possible obstruction of justice began days after Trump abruptly fired Comey on May 9.

Comey testified last week that he also felt pressured to drop the Flynn probe.

Mendes claimed that the Portuguese has offers from Premier League clubs, including Manchester City. Ronaldo is accused of defrauding the authorities of 14.7m euros in tax through offshore companies.

Mr Trump was strongly critical of some of Mr Comey's testimony but said Mr Comey had vindicated him by saying while he was at the agency, Mr Trump was not the subject of the FBI's Russian Federation probe.

Last month, President Trump hired his own lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, to handle Russia-related investigations by the FBI and U.S. congressional committees. "Nice", Trump wrote on Twitter.

Mr. Mueller has reportedly already scheduled interviews with several senior intelligence officials.

Like many Trump tweets, it can be read both ways.

Trump aides have urged him to stop meddling in the investigative process, but law enforcement and intelligence officials have recounted how the president has asked them to push back against the probe or to publicly exonerate him.
