Trump Can't Just Fire The Special Counsel Probing Russian Interference

That decision would fall to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who said on Tuesday in a Senate budget hearing that he would only fire Mr Mueller for good cause and has seen no evidence of that.

Ruddy appeared to be basing his remarks, at least in part, on comments from Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump's legal team, who told ABC in an interview Sunday that he was "not going to speculate" on whether Trump might at some point order Rosenstein to fire Mueller. "If there were not good cause, it would not matter what anybody says". Comey himself said when he testified before the Senate last week that he was "sure" that Mueller's investigation would look into a potential obstruction of justice case against President Donald Trump.

A senior White House official confirmed that the President had interviewed Mr Mueller for the FBI post in the Oval Office the day before Mr Rosenstein tapped him to be the special counsel in the Russian Federation investigation.

Rosenstein took over the investigation when Sessions recused himself from any dealings with the Russia probe on March 2 after his own dealings with Russian officials were disclosed.

Rosenstein said the attorney general would be the only one who could fire Mueller. White House officials and a person close to Trump's personal attorney said Trump is not planning to make any moves on Mueller.

Union Cabinet to review Pay Commission allowances
Currently, the HRA rate for Class X, Y and Z cities are 30 percent, 20 percent and 10 percent of the Basic pay. National Joint Council of Action (NJCA) is a joint body of unions representing central government employees.

"I know what we're investigating, and he does not", Rosenstein said to Sen. The White House clarification has come amidst reports that Trump is contemplating firing Mueller.

Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein of California told Rosenstein, "It would be catastrophic", if Trump fired Mueller.

But after the evidence of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey last week, Mr Gingrich said he had changed his mind.

Anxiety about the probe - and fresh concerns about the political leanings of some of the attorneys involved - is percolating in the West Wing of the White House.

Trump told NBC's Lester Holt in an interview on May 11 days after Comey was sacked that he fired him because "this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation is a made up story". "Mr Ruddy never spoke to the president regarding this issue", an official said. If the regulations were rescinded, Trump would no longer be required to cite any cause in removing Mueller.

London police plead for calm after attack at mosque
The force said the investigation of the incident is being carried out by the Counter Terrorism Command. An attack on one community is an attack on all of us. "This is being treated as a terrorist attack ".

Some have compared Trump's firing of then-FBI Director James Comey in May to the storied "Saturday Night massacre" that occurred during Richard Nixon's presidency.

The friend, Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax Media, who was at the White House on Monday, said on PBS NewsHour that Mr. Trump was "considering, perhaps, terminating the special counsel".

The White House appeared blindsided by it, but took hours to address it, triggering speculation it was, one, a plan indeed and Moody was testing the waters for Trump, and two, it was an attempt by a anxious administration to intimidate the counsel and the formidable team of lawyers he was putting together. "I think it's a threat to the Trump presidency. So I think the best advice would be to let Robert Mueller do his job". "I think the way the investigation is shaping up, he's out to get the president".

Mueller was already granted a waiver by the Justice Department to lead the investigation despite a possible conflict of interest stemming from his law firm's representation of some of the people caught up in the investigation, including former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser.

Spicer, the spokesman, declined to say then that Sessions enjoyed Trump's confidence, though spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said later in the week that the president had confidence "in all of his Cabinet". Ruddy did not immediately respond to questions seeking clarification. Ruddy said Tuesday that he stands by his comments.
