Trump decries 'witch hunt' as his lawyer insists there is no probe

One of Donald Trump's personal attorneys categorically denied that the President is under investigation for obstruction of justice, despite Twitter posts in which Trump apparently acknowledges it.

Sekulow later appeared on Fox News Sunday and was challenged by host Chris Wallace over twice seeming to confirm the investigation he had previously denied.

The Washington Post story that Sekulow is referring to cites five officials speaking on condition of anonymity, indicating that they were not allowed to discuss the matter publicly, who claim to have been briefed on interview requests from Mueller with top intelligence officials.

Sekulow said that Trump, in his tweet, was reacting to a story in the Washington Post, which was the first to report Mueller was examining whether Trump had tried to obstruct the probe by firing Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in May. Claims also arose that Trump asked the director of the National Security Agency to declare that he was not under investigation and asked the Director of National Intelligence to tell Comey to back off the Flynn investigation.

Trump is not being served well by either man, and with his presidency possibly hanging in the balance of Mueller's probe, he must regain control of the Justice Department.

Gingrich: Mueller 'Should Recuse Himself' - We're Right Back Where Comey Was
Gingrich added he did not truly see "Trump breaking loose until the Fox debate in August". "I don't think it serves him well".

"That tweet was in response to a Washington Post story that ran with five unnamed sources", Mr Sekulow told CNN.

He blamed the confusion over Twitter's 140-character limit.

Veteran lawyers who have represented presidents during high-stakes legal cases said Trump's repeated comments about the Russian Federation investigation were extremely unusual.

"There has been no notification from the special counsel s office that the president is under investigation".

Trump has hinted that he may have taped conversations with Comey - in which the ex-FBI chief says the president pressured him for his loyalty and on the Russian Federation investigation while also urging him to drop a probe into former national security advisor Michael Flynn. "He can not in a Twitter statement include all of that in there, but "The Washington Post" statement came out that morning", he said.

The turnaround sent shockwaves throughout England's fanbase as they faced their first World Cup qualification group defeat. It was Griffith's first goals for his country and he admitted afterwards that he was happy to get off the mark.

Sekulow says that Trump hasn't been notified of any investigation. But legal analysts say few criminal investigations begin with an identified target.

Trump returned to the White House on Sunday after spending Father s Day weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat.

"The president can not be., found liable for engaging in an activity for which he clearly has the power to do under the Constitution".

After the attacks, Mr Rosenstein himself issued a statement that closely matched Mr Trump's own rhetoric.

"He (Trump) is not afraid of the investigation - there is no investigation", Sekulow said, stressing that "there is not an investigation of the president of the United States, period". "But the president, as James Comey said in his testimony and as we know as of today, the president has not been and is not under investigation". In fact, it may be that the odds of removal are greater if Mueller and his team of left-leaning partisans stay on and devote endless resources to conjuring up a case against the president.

Castile's taillight was out; Yanez also testified he thought Castile resembled a suspect in a recent convenience store robbery. Differing interpretations on the intentions of Castile's next movements defined both the state and defense cases.

Earlier this month, Rosenstein told The Associated Press that "if anything that I did winds up being relevant to his investigation then, as Director Mueller and I discussed, if there's a need from me to recuse, I will".
