Trump still tweets 'Witch Hunt' but attorney says president isn't under investigation

"The President has not been and is not under investigation" for obstruction of justice, he added, referring to press reports saying that special counsel Robert Mueller is also investigating Trump, Efe news reported.

In multiple weird Sunday morning interviews an attorney for President Donald Trump insisted that the president is "not under investigation by the special counsel" despite reports that Trump is under investigation for allegedly obstructing justice for firing of former FBI Director James Comey.

Jay Sekulow, a member of President Trump's legal team, said Sunday he has no knowledge of the president being the target of a federal probe, following Trump's recent statement suggesting that he is being investigated.

President Donald Trump angrily decried as a "distraction" the "witch hunt" against him Sunday, as his lawyer insisted the United States leader was not under criminal investigation in the sweeping probe of Russian meddling in American elections.

As evidence, Sekulow said that Trump has not been notified of any investigation.

Not surprisingly, most of the hosts interviewing Sekulow on Sunday morning started by taking the president at his word that he is "being investigated".

Jubilance in IOK over Pakistan's victory against India
The Indian captain praised left handers batting approach and said 80 percent of his "high risk shots" came off well. The two quick wickets of Yuvraj and Dhoni had India at 54-5 and with no realistic chance of winning the contest.

"That tweet was in response to a Washington Post story that alleged five unnamed sources, anonymous sources, leaked to the Washington Post that the president was in fact under investigation, so that tweet was in response to that", Sekulow continued. "That the president was not and is not a target of investigation", Sekulow answered.

"You don't know that he's not under investigation", Wallace said. California congressman Adam Schiff said on ABC's This Week. "Does he believe the president, who says there's no wrongdoing here, or does he go after the president in the way [fired FBI Director] James Comey wants him to do?"

Sekulow responded that Trump couldn't be indicted "because there's not an investigation". At least, that's what the president has said on Twitter.

The president has directed some of his frustration at Rosenstein and Mueller. Sen.

They said Sekulow's denials were not so much a legal argument as an effort to fix the political damage from the apparent admission by Trump.

Sekulow said the message was merely a response by the president to a Washington Post article citing five unnamed sources who said Trump was under investigation in the Russian Federation case.

Castile's taillight was out; Yanez also testified he thought Castile resembled a suspect in a recent convenience store robbery. Differing interpretations on the intentions of Castile's next movements defined both the state and defense cases.

If Mueller strays from the straight and narrow, Rosenstein should not hesitate to remove him and name someone else to serve as special counsel.

On Twitter Friday, Trump wrote as part of a tweet about the probe that "I am being investigated".

"Okay, well good, we're in agreement", Wallace insisted.

"The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", Feinstein said. But Rosenstein, too, may ultimately have to hand off oversight given his role in Trump's decision to fire Comey. Angus King of ME, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats.

"This is a very complex matter, involving thousands of pages of intelligence documents, lots of witnesses".
