Trump tweet denounces Mueller obstruction of justice probe as witch hunt

Comey had accused Trump of firing him to try to undermine the FBI's investigation of a possible collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russian Federation in alleged efforts to influence last year's presidential election.

The president didn't clarify what exactly he was referring to in the early morning tweet, however he has frequently described reports about possible ties between members of his campaign and Russian Federation as a "witch hunt".

The White House has denied any collusion, and President Trump has repeatedly complained about the probe, saying Democrats can not accept his election win. (Message: I'll protect you.) He allegedly told Comey the next day, "I hope you can let this go".

"Mr. Trump's apparent reference to Mr. Rosenstein, who oversees the Russian Federation investigation because Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from it, came just hours after an oddly worded statement from Mr. Rosenstein complaining about leaks in the case".

Oil slips as data points to fast-growing supply
USA energy companies added oil rigs for a record 22nd week in a row, energy services company Baker Hughes said on Friday. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that American output will surpass 10 million bpd next year.

The Washington Post previously reported that Trump also asked Rogers and Coats to push back against the FBI's investigation. "If the President tries to fire him to diminish or stop this investigation, I would hope that finally there would be a bipartisan uproar against it". Dianne Feinstein of California, promptly responded to Trump's speech with a statement warning that firing Rosenstein and Mueller would be met with fierce backlash.

The interviews (with Rogers, Coats and Ledgett) suggest that Mueller sees the question of attempted obstruction of justice as more than just a "he said, he said" dispute between the President and the fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director, an official said.

The new tweets are the latest in a week of angry social media responses from the president over a report by the Washington Post that Mr Mueller was looking into whether Mr Trump obstructed justice.

The tweet came around 9:10 a.m. Friday. What is clear is that he could order the Justice Department to ax Mueller, which may result in Rosenstein's departure and would certainly intensify the uproar over the investigation. It was unclear whether his tweet about being under investigation was based on direct knowledge or new media reports that suggest Mueller is examining whether the president obstructed justice by firing Comey.

Trump insists there's no proof he colluded with Russian Federation
In a series of tweets on Friday morning the president confirmed that he was being investigated for firing James Comey on May 9th. He could order Rosenstein to do so, but under federal regulations Rosenstein would need to show " good cause " to fire Mueller.

While most Republicans in Congress said little about Mr. Trump's criticism of Mueller, other supporters echoed the President's concerns. The first time he told Trump was in his first meeting with the president before the inauguration on January 6.

Trump spoke to Coats and Rogers about the Russian Federation investigation, according to officials.

"His view was still that it. could be misleading, because the nature of the investigation was such that it might well touch - obviously, it would touch the campaign, and the person at the head of the campaign would be the candidate".

A spokesman for Mueller's team declined to comment on Wednesday. The intelligence committee is the lead congressional panel on the Russian Federation hacking scandal, including highly publicized hearings with fired FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

After grief, anger at May over tower fire
At the very least, the survivors of the fire who have lost their homes must be consulted about where they wish to live. The head of state said a saddened country was showing a determination to rebuild lives wrecked by "terrible" tragedy.

CENTCOM later said that person was "unauthorized" to speak for the command and that the statement was "inappropriate". The newspaper noted Mueller had requested interviews with CIA Director Dan Coats, National Security Agency chief Michael Rogers and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director.
