British Prime Minister Theresa May said the incident was being treated at "a potential terrorist attack". Eight people were killed and 50 injured on June 3 when three Islamist militants drove into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed people at nearby restaurants and bars.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said that eight people are in hospital and two others were treated at the scene.

Finsbury Park Mosque: Man dies as van hits pedestrians
Sky News reported that police said the incident happened after worshippers were leaving the Finsbury Park mosque after prayers. On May 22, a suicide bomber hit a concert of Ariana Grande in Manchester and killed 22 people, and injured almost 60.

Another shocked witness told the Press Association he jumped out of the van's path as it ploughed into conversing bystanders. The man has been taken to hospital "as a precaution". It has been learned that the vehicle's driver was arrested.

The group's general secretary, Harun Khan, said: "During the night, ordinary British citizens were set upon while they were going about their lives, completing their night worship".

According to multiple reports and social media posts, the van ran over people leaving the Finsbury Park Mosque. One person has been arrested. "An advance trauma team from London's Air Ambulance has also been dispatched by vehicle". Manchester was also hit by a severe attack when a bomber killed more than 20 people at an Ariana Grande concert.

Several witness accounts indicate that the victims were worshippers leaving a mosque in London's Finsbury Park.
