Britons cry for London fire victims as death toll rises to 79

However, the council have moved to allay their fears by confirming that the cladding is NOT the same as that on Grenfell Tower.

Speaking outside Scotland Yard, Cmdr Stuart Cundy said a total of 79 people were presumed dead and warned the toll could rise further.

Lambeth's leader Cllr Lib Peck has offered the borough's help to the victims of the bad Grenfell Tower tragedy in Kensington and assured residents locally that our area's social housing blocks have up to date fire risk assessments.

He said that "it's hard to describe the devastation the fire has caused".

"In the wake of (the) Grenfell fire we have to recognise that something has gone badly, badly wrong in this country, that predominantly poor people die in a towering inferno because possibly in the long term (there had been a) lack of public investment", Corbyn told ITV's Peston on Sunday programme.

Finsbury Park Terror Suspect Held In Headlock By Potential Victims
Police were on Monday searching an address in a cul-de-sac close to Cardiff golf club in the northeast of the city suburbs. Osborne's family reported told the BBC that he is "not a racist" and that he has been "troubled for a long time ".

Five people who had been reported missing after the disaster have been found safe and well, he said.

There were emotional scenes at the site in north Kensington at 11am as firefighters halted work to join residents for a minute's silence held to remember those who lost their lives and all others affected by the blaze. Mr Cundy added that authorities are investigating whether any crimes had been committed in the fire.

Residents will be given £500 in cash followed by a bank payment for the rest from Monday with the money coming from the £5m fund announced by British Prime Minister Theresa May last week.

Finally, we see little or no enthusiasm from many residents, when the fire safety personnel arrive at the building to teach residents how to use the cylinders installed in the building.

An additonal 70 people are reportedly missing.

Video footage helps identify London mosque attacker
A man was arrested after "intentionally" driving a vehicle into several pedestrians near a mosque in London on Sunday. He said on behalf of the family: " We are massively shocked; it's unbelievable, it still hasn't really sunk in ".

On Friday, fire survivors, relatives and members of the local community broke an anger that had been brewing for several days by invading the Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall (West London), where the tower is located.

Mr Paget-Brown sidestepped questions over whether he felt guilty about the tragedy, telling BBC Radio 4's The World At One: "I feel bad about the whole position we find ourselves in". The cladding installed previous year on the facade would have further promoted the spread of the fire.

The letter also says that cladding used by Incommunities is "non-combustible rock wool insulation and is not the same as that used in the London tower blocks".

Celebrities have been helping out at Grenfell Tower (including Tom Hardy) and of course, the Royals paid their respects too. Since their block was evacuated she had slept in several places, including her vehicle.

She said: "We have no water".
