US student freed by North Korea in a coma dies at 22

Otto Warmbier, US student freed from North Korea, has died, family says in a statement released by OH hospital.

Warmbier, who is now 22, wasn't seen or heard from again until last week, when the Trump administration managed to secure his release and fly him home to Ohio.

"It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home", his parents said in a statement released by the hospital where Warmbier was receiving care.

Update: Lunken Airport Manager confirms Otto Warmbier will arrive at Lunken around 10pm, he will then be transported to UC Medical Center.

There's little chance Otto Warmbier will recover from his injuries just as there is little chance anyone outside of the North Korean government will ever know what awful things happened to him.

"Otto Warmbier was such a promising young man". He was salutatorian of his 2013 class at the highly rated high school, and was on the soccer team among other activities.

Is Donald Trump Under Investigation for Obstruction of Justice?
Attorney Jay Sekulow appeared on several news programs Sunday and Monday to say Trump is not under federal investigation. Investigators have also sought information from recently retired NSA Deputy Richard Ledgett, according to the source.

It wasn't a part of the plan.

"This is not a very good situation to try to improve the relationship with North Korea when they treat our people like this", he said in an interview with a New York-based radio station, according to the Hill newspaper.

"Otto, I love you and I'm so insane about you, I'm so glad you're home, you are such a great guy", he continued. "He was such a mature lad for his age". He did not seem aware of his surroundings, in spite of his open and blinking eyes.

In total, the trip was supposed to last five days.

Richardson strongly criticized North Korean leader Kim Jong-un over the case and called for a clear explanation. He admitted to the crime and begged for forgiveness and for his release.

He was sentenced to 15 years' hard labor after issuing a confession, which his father said sounded forced.

Richardson's foundation was involved in 20 meetings in NY "trying to press for his release" and sent a private delegation late previous year to North Korea, as also reported by The Wall Street Journal.

We've highlighted bluster like this in the past, but this might just take the cake.

Carlson asked Warmbier if he knew why this happened to Otto. The medical team treating him at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center said he had brain damage consistent with respiratory arrest cutting off oxygen to the brain.
