Simmons made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday that he has chose to transfer from the University of Alabama and continue his football career at West Virginia University.

"Words are not enough to explain how thankful I am for having the opportunity to play for the University of Alabama", Simmons wrote.

Alabama receiver T.J. Simmons (16) made six catches for 82 yards during the A-Day game in April. He announced the news that he is headed to West Virginia on Twitter.

The deal lay stagnant in the Turkish parliament but was quickly rushed through for approval after the row erupted this month. Gargash said that if Qatar fails to comply within the 10-day timeline set out in the ultimatum, it will be isolated.

Simmons played in 12 games as a true freshman for the Crimson Tide.

Simmons, 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, enrolled early at Alabama and saw action on special teams while working in at a deep wide receiver rotation.

Simmons would have to sit out the 2017 season per NCAA transfer rules but will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2018.

Germany reach semis as referee needs VAR double-take
Chile began in their usual fast and furious style and Arturo Vidal forced an early save from Maty Ryan with a superb volley. The match should prove to be an exciting duel even with Chile emerging as the clear favorite going into the clash.

Simmons will only help add to a talented wide receiver group in Morgantown and is the third transfer to select the Mountaineers this summer following in the footsteps of former Miami quarterback Jack Allison and tight end Jovani Haskins.

Simmons joins defensive lineman O.J. Smith and linebacker Shawn Jennings as Alabama players who have transferred this month.

West Virginia went 10-3 last season.
