Demands of Saudi an attack to Qatar's sovereignty: Erdogan

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday criticized some of the demands by Saudi Arabia and its allies on Qatar as "very difficult" to meet and urged the countries to tamp down the rhetoric and start negotiating.

Qatar has been issued 13 demands which among other things include closing the Turkish military base, cutting relations with Iran, closing Al Jazeera television and paying reparations. We believe our allies and partners are stronger when they are working together towards one goal which we all agree is stopping terrorism and countering extremism.

Since the crisis began earlier this month, Turkey has deployed troops to Qatar where they are training Qatari forces.

S. Koreans march to protest US missile defence system
The military said the missile, a Hyunmoo-2 with a range of up to 800 kilometers (nearly 500 miles), hit its target accurately. South Korea has tested the missile four times and will have it ready to use after two additional tests, Moon's office said.

Speaking Sunday after Eid prayers in Istanbul, Erdogan called the demand regarding the base "disrespectful". But the ultimatum was quickly rejected by Qatar's ally, Turkey, and blasted as an assault on free speech by Al-Jazeera, the Qatari broadcaster that the gas-rich country's neighbors are demanding be shut down.

"We consider these demands against global law", Mr Erdogan said after Eid Al Fitr prayers on Sunday morning.

Al Sulaiti said that Qatar is hoping to "get more routes for Qatar" and said he trusted the United Nations body to resolve the dispute and "take action very quickly", Reuters reported. Doha said it was reviewing the list, but added it was not actionable.

Erdoğan came fully out in support of Qatar during a speech on Sunday, calling the demands laid out by the other gulf states for lifting the blockade a breach of worldwide law.

Cristiano Ronaldo confident on Confederations Cup final
Portugal and Mexico booked their own places in the semi-finals, coming up on top in Group A. Nani completed the scoring with his 25th worldwide goal.

"Just like the presence of other foreign military bases or units in other countries of the region, our military presence in Qatar is principally based on a decision taken by the two countries relying on their sovereign rights", he said.

Tehran, which has been helping Qatar deal with the blockade, promised to continue its support of a "brother" state by servicing Doha's air, sea and land needs. And in a readout of a conversation with Qatar's emir, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said that "pressure, threats and sanctions" will not help resolve the crisis, adding that the "siege of Qatar is not acceptable for us".

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt want Doha to comply with the demands in return for an end to the three-week-old diplomatic and trade blockade of Qatar.
