Lewis Hamilton rejects call to talk from title rival Sebastian Vettel

Ricciardo in shock after 'crazy' race

Vettel said of the incident: "I have no doubt he brake-checked me".

Lewis Hamilton accused Formula One rival Sebastian Vettel of disgracing himself and deliberately driving into his vehicle as a bitter clash between the world championship rivals dominated Sunday's Grand Prix in Azerbaijan.

The Australian, who was Ferrari driver Vettel's team-mate at Red Bull in 2014, won the race after dropping to 17th on lap six following a chaotic sequence of events, which included three safety auto deployments, multiple crashes and the sight of Hamilton having to give up the lead to fix a loose cockpit head-protection device.

Despite repeated attempts by reporters to refer to the clash, Vettel would not even admit there was contact, instead insisting again and again that Hamilton had brake-tested him.

The Briton denied that and said Vettel's driving was "disgusting" and "not sportsman's conduct". They bring Vettel's tally in the last 12 months to nine and means another such sanction in Austria in two weeks' time would trigger an automatic race ban for the following round at Silverstone.

There were three safety cars deployed as Hamilton was forced to pit for a fix to his headrest just as Vettel was hit with his time penalty.

Hamilton was not penalised.

"It emerged that Hamilton did correctly, maintained a consistent speed and behaved in the same manner on that occasion as in all other restarts during the race", stated a note from the FIA's media delegate.

Vettel hit the back of Hamilton's Mercedes as the pair weaved behind the safety auto, with the German claiming he had been brake-tested by the three-time world champion.

Vettel then pulled alongside Hamilton and swerved into him, banging wheels.

When asked if the incident tarnishes Vettel's reputation, Lauda said: "Sure". We are both grown-up men. I don't have a radio to him.

"Then it just looked like a red mist moment to me, where he's lost it and taken a swipe at him - which was only ever going to result in a penalty".

North Korea dismiss Moon call for united Pyeongchang team
Until recently, North Korea has continued its firing of ballistic missiles and is ceaselessly engaging in military provocation". The US Defense Intelligence Agency warned last month that North Korea was on an "inevitable" path to achieving this.

"I don't run into the back of him on objective", he said.

But Bottas had to pit on the second lap for a new front wing, dropping to last, while Raikkonen complained of damage to the rear of his auto.

"All I'm thinking is "get my head together". I don't think this is the right time to talk.

"He's done something similar in China a couple of years ago", Vettel added. It is not the way to do it.

Hamilton had already complained that the safety auto was driving too slowly and feared it would lead to an accident. "That was just not necessary".

Hamilton and Vettel have won a combined seven F1 titles and more than 100 races. He said that he thought the penalty must have been for hitting Hamilton from behind.

Yang Kaichun, a woman wearing a pink beaded veil over her hair who brought food to the rescuers, was pessimistic. To prevent further collapses search teams had to exercise caution when digging, they said.

Hamilton, who had dominated after a strong start from his 66th pole position, was also undone by a loose headrest that caused him to be ordered to pit for repairs, for safety reasons.
