Life ends for legend with broadcasting's longest career: Bob Wolff dies at 96

Legendary sports broadcaster Bob Wolff has died.

Wolff and another sportscaster Curt Gowdy are the only two broadcasters to be honored by both the Baseball and Basketball Halls of Fame. His career has spanned so many different avenues, that Wolff held the distinction of getting to have interviewed Babe Ruth.

Wolff began his broadcasting career in 1939 while he was studying at the Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Protesters march against recent actions of the NRA
In addition to the D.C. march, there are more than a dozen solidarity actions taking place across the country Friday and Saturday. The protesters called on the NRA to remove a video posted in April called "The Violence of Lies".

The native New Yorker passed away Saturday.

Wolff also did the World Series on television in 1958 and 1961 and called the Stanley Cup Final, so he was the rare broadcaster to work the title games in all four major USA sports.

Wolff worked at News 12 Long Island, starting in 1986, serving as the station's first sportscaster and working the station's first broadcast. He called Don Larsen's flawless game for the New York Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers on October 8, 1956, as well as the NFL's "Greatest Game Ever Played", when Alan Ameche's 1-yard run gave the Baltimore Colts an overtime win in the 1958 National Football League championship game.

Behind the hoopla lies a strategy that will pay dividends down the line and make the gargantuan company even more formidable. You can ask Alexa a question, such as 'Alexa, what's the weather today?' and Alexa will respond once your phone is unlocked.

He is survived by his three children and wife, to whom he had been married since 1945.

"Longevity comes with being a sportscaster", Wolff told the New York Post in January. "Beyond his lifetime of professional accomplishments, he was a man of great grace and dignity, serving his country with honor, and proudly calling NY home". After a stint in the Navy during World War II, he became an early TV sportscaster in Washington, D.C., in the mid-1940s, then got a job as the Washington Senators' play-by-play man.

In 2014, he was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest consecutive run as a broadcaster at 74 years 6 months and 8 days as of that day. "Bob was a dear friend of the Yankees organization and he will be deeply missed".

Chelsea to beat Juventus to signing of Real Madrid player
Danilo managed to make 56 appearances for Real Madrid , scoring three goals and assisting in nine more in all competitions. Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing up a move to sign Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

From 1947-1960, Wolff was the voice of the Washington Senators. He played "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on his favorite instrument following his enshrinement into the broadcasting wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995. In 2008, he received the Curt Gowdy media award from the Basketball Hall of Fame.
