Hoffman has never faced the Mets. But he didn't mind the twist of fate Sunday afternoon.

DJ LeMahieu went 4-for-6 with a stolen base and three runs scored in the Rockies' blowout victory over the Mets on Sunday.

Of the four relievers that the Mets called upon-Ramirez, Erik Goeddel, Fernando Salas and Chasen Bradford-only Goeddel managed to keep the Rockies off the scoreboard, tossing two flawless innings with three strikeouts.

Fernando Salas allowed two runs in the fourth. "I just went out and threw strikes and tried to attack the zone".

Chatwood allowed four runs, one hit and three walks while striking out none. He threw several practice pitches before he was removed from the game.

LeMahieu singled and Reynolds doubled during a four-run first inning that featured a two-run single by Ian Desmond, who was activated from the disabled list prior to the game, and a two-run double by Trevor Story.

It was the shortest start of Matz's career, and the seven earned runs equaled a career high. He walked just one batter and struck out three.

"I couldn't get the ball down and I couldn't push off, which isn't ideal for a guy who's had two Tommy John surgeries", a disappointed Chatwood said. Rivera followed with an RBI single before Duda laced a two-run double.

Asdrubal Cabrera, who connected on a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth, his first long ball since July 1.
