The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said Tuesday continuing hot weather and wildfire smoke will continue to affect air quality through the end of the week.

Due to the fire's remote and difficult-to-access location, it is likely to continue burning in the Fall causing air quality issues for the surrounding area, the Trust release states.

Air quality in Whatcom County ranges from "unhealthy" in Bellingham and Maple Falls to "unhealthy for sensitive groups" in Custer, according to the Washington Department of Ecology's Air Monitoring Network.
