Nintendo hit by lawsuit over Switch design

Gamevice, a company known for creating gaming accessories, is suing Nintendo for allegedly violating a patent they had for the Wikipad, which is pretty much a gaming-oriented Android slate, as per Engadget.

Nintendo is accused of infringing USA patent number 9,126,119, called "Combination computing device and game controller with flexible bridge section".

Gamevice has demanded that Nintendo pay damages for the infringement, and has requested a ban of all Switch sales - something that would have a massive impact on the Nintendo's revenue stream.

Why can't Hamid Ansari speak as vice-president, and not just a Muslim?
The BJP also lashed out at Mr Ansari for his remarks and wondered whether he was looking for "rehabilitation after retirement". Naidu maintained that there was no fear among Muslims in India - "the most tolerant country in the world".

California-based Gamevice filed its lawsuit at the US District Court for the Central District of California on Wednesday, July 9.

Gamevice's Wikipad (pictured below) is the device that the Switch supposedly uses the patents from. A tablet/mobile device slides into the device to allow you to play mobile games with traditional console controls.

The Nintendo Switch might be the year's must-buy console, but that doesn't mean it's all plain sailing for the Japanese gaming giant - as a new lawsuit aimed at the multinational proves.

Sanchez out as Arsenal face injury crisis ahead of season opener
Wenger also confirmed goalkeeper David Ospina will stay at the club and fight for the No 1 shirt with Petr Cech this season. Even with injuries the squad is far superior than Leicester's and they look the favourites for a win.

However, given that Nintendo seems to be equally diligent about filing patents for its various devices, Gamevice may find it has a hard road ahead.

Neither Gamevice nor Nintendo have commented publicly on the lawsuit.
