Opposition Coalition, NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that the Electoral Commission system was manipulated and questioned the authenticity of the presidential results.

"The electoral process is still ongoing. Our mothers and fathers all struggled so that we would all have a better Kenya and a better future", Kenyatta said in a televised address on Monday.

Addressing a news conference in capital Nairobi, former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, backed the efforts of over 400 observers from nine observer missions during the elections.

The inflatable denizen is on the property legally, as Brar was issued a permit after a long process by the National Park Service. There's a reason it was there rather than to the left a little bit, it would have been blocked", Brar told the magazine.

"Elections should never be an issue of life or death", said Marietje Schaake, the Dutch head of the European Union mission observing the elections. "The streets do not".

The opposition claimed the voting system and website had been hacked to produce a "fictitious" lead for Kenyatta. He provided no evidence but demanded Odinga, standing quietly by him at the news conference, be declared victor.

Odinga rejected the early results of Tuesday's vote and said the details were "fake", because the authorities had failed to present documents verifying the results, BBC reported. The commission's Chairman Wafula Chebuati said that so far they had not seen a discrepancy in the preliminary figures being published from the figures in the 34As.

"They loaded an algorithm which is a formula to create a percentage gap of 11 percent between our numbers", Odinga continued, referencing the gap between himself and president Kenyatta at the time.

A real worry is whether or not the disputed election results spirals out of control and into ethnic conflict, as it did in 2007, when a contested election led to ethnic conflict that left some 1,300 killed and 600,000 displaced.

Police fired tear gas to disperse a few hundred protesters in Kisumu in western Kenya as well as in Nairobi's Mathare slum, with Odinga's supporters setting up burning barricades and blocking roads with debris in both spots, AFP reporters said. One protester was also shot dead by police in Kisii county. In 2013, he quelled clashes by taking his concerns to court. Many businesses remain closed amid fears of violence.

"NASA's outright declaration that Odinga is the rightful victor raises the risk of further violence in opposition areas should the IEBC confirm Kenyatta's victory", Gordon warned. Odinga, who garnered 43.3 per cent of the vote, filed a complaint against the election result, alleging possible irregularities. The candidates' fathers, Jomo Kenyatta and Jaramogi Odinga, went from allies in the struggle for independence from Britain to bitter rivals.
