Airline employee delivers cancer patient's crucial lost luggage

So, Sarah voluntarily drove to Stacy's home at 3:00 a.m.

WPXI Pittsburgh reports that a Southwest employee personally delivered the missing bag to the woman - who is battling stage four colon cancer - along with a handwritten note.

Sarah Rowan, 27, a customer service agent in Southwest's Pittsburgh office, was answering customer calls the evening of July 23 when she got a panicked call from Stacy Hurt, who had just flown from Nashville to Pittsburgh on a Southwest flight. That meant the items could arrive later that night, or the next day. "My world was rocked".

"She said, 'I'll have it delivered to you no matter what time it is, ' and she left me a voicemail at 2:53 a.m. telling me that she was delivering my luggage to my house herself and it was on my porch when I woke up in the morning with all my items".

She also said that inside the luggage there was a lucky shirt and some materials from the retreat she wanted give to patients in the hospital. "When you have cancer and you have chemo, this is the toughest thing ever".

It said that none of the athletes who had already qualified would be expelled to make way for him. However, the fastest man in the world this year made light of it in his semifinal.

Hurt had told Rowan of her 9 a.m. chemotherapy appointment. "I know first-hand how most times, you only hear "the bad" and when someone so extraordinary touched my life, I knew it was my mission to tell Southwest Airlines about 'the good, '" Sarah said.

The ordeal began when the woman made a decision to take an earlier flight home from Nashville to Pittsburgh recently.

The contents of the bag were especially important because Hurt had a chemotherapy appointment the very next morning.

"They really accommodate people with disabilities, including me, including my disabled son, but this just really epitomised what their people do", she said.

"When I saw it the next day I just figured a courier had brought it but then when I got to my phone and I got her voicemail at 2:53am telling me that she had delivered it, it was like insane", Stacy said.

"When I read it I cried", Hurt said in her post.

"I cried. I just started bawling. She restores your faith in humanity". "To meet the woman who helped me during that hurried and panicked night - she's my guardian angel, she's my light in the darkness".

To Rowan, the feeling is mutual.

"She was just as sweet as can be", Rowan told ABC News.

Stacy checked them in her bag since they're technically replaceable but didn't consider that she might have to go through treatment without them until her bag was stuck in a different city.
