David Duke: Charlottesville Rally 'Fulfills The Promises Of Donald Trump'

Virginia's governor has urged people to stay away from a planned weekend rally of far-right and white supremacist groups in the university town of Charlottesville.

A sizeable contingent of members of the extreme right and white nationalists are expected to descend on a small US university town Saturday - and a fierce opposition front is uniting against it.

"After two police briefings this week, Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D-Va.) said he has concerns about violence at the Unite the Right Rally, which is planned for Saturday at a Charlottesville park".

Roger Federer through in Rogers Cup — ATP Tour round-up
The other quarter-final features Germany's Alexander Zverev against Kevin Anderson of South Africa. Saturday's meeting with Federer will be the Dutchman's first Masters 1000 semi-final of his career.

"I want to urge my fellow Virginians who may consider joining either in support or opposition to the planned rally to make alternative plans". The rally was sparked by Charlottesville's decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from Emancipation Park.

Dubbed the "Unite the Right Rally", the gathering could mark one of the most significant demonstrations of its kind in decades, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremist groups.

Governor McAuliffe, a Democrat, said he had given security forces instructions to act quickly and decisively if violence breaks out.

NRA TV Host Seemingly Calls For North Korea to Nuke California
The state of California's strict gun laws have repeatedly earned the ire of the National Rifle Association. Stinchfield told the New York Daily News that he was sorry for making light of a very real danger.

"Many of the individuals coming to Charlottesville tomorrow are doing so in order to express viewpoints many people, including me, find abhorrent", he said. "At my direction, personnel from the Virginia National Guard are also standing by to respond if needed".

This is an event which seeks to unify the right-wing against a totalitarian Communist crackdown, to speak out against displacement level immigration policies in the United States and Europe, and to affirm the right of Southerners and white people to organize for their interests just like any other group is able to do, free of persecution. "Alt-right" leader Richard Spencer led a white supremacist protest in May and the KKK rallied in July against the statue's removal. "We will be there to observe and document police practices as we were on July 8 and at other rallies and protests across Virginia since January and before".

Statues and monuments to Confederate or pro-slavery figures have become flash points of protests between supporters who see them as part of American or regional heritage and those who call them racially insensitive.
