Usain Bolt's bid to bring the curtain down on his glittering career with a 15th world gold medal remained on track as Jamaica qualified for the final of the 4x100m relay.

For Gatlin, who became the oldest 100m world champion in history last weekend and was part of the U.S. team that were beaten by Great Britain in Greece 13 years ago, it rekindled old memories.

It has been a disastrous farewell championships for the world's fastest man who was surprisingly beaten in the 100m, his final individual race of his career, where he took bronze.

The Jamaica team doctor says Usain Bolt had to pull up in the 4x100m relay due to cramp in his hamstring.

- Johannes Vetter won the javelin title at the world championships with an opening throw of 89.89 meters. We were getting cold, and it's not the warmest weather over here, and they kept us a while. Normally I get better through the rounds. To see a true legend, a true champion go out there and struggling like that.

Instead, Tori Bowie was the unlikely first double gold medalist at the championships, anchoring the USA team to the 400-meter relay title ahead of Britain and Jamaica.

Team-mate Omar McLeod echoed Blake and criticised the organisation with his heart going out to Bolt.

"It was ridiculous! We were there waiting. Now he's really deserved time away and to not have to deal with the gruelling training". I drank two bottles of water. In fact Usain said to me, "Yohan, I think this is insane". Great Britain came in second with a time of 42.12 seconds and Jamaica pulled in third, seven-hundredths of a second later. I lost all my sweat and body heat, " Gatlin said.

While its members acknowledge the concern, they also say it guarantees solidarity in decisions and statements they come up with. A more direct warning was aimed at the United States in a government statement published by the state-run KCNA news agency.

When asked if he thought that contributed to Bolt's injury, the 35-year-old said: "I believe so".

This is very sad news indeed for Bolt as it ends his career on a low something Usain Bolt does not deserve. He would have wanted to cross the finish line.

"They've been outstanding so far, and continue to surprise me and give me energy", Bolt said.

"This is a farewell tour, we take our hats off to him and we hope he gets better".

"We'll see what happens".
