Separate early morning crashes kill three

Three people were killed in two crashes early Saturday in neighboring Waldo County towns, authorities said.

The county sheriff's office says the first crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Frankfort, when a vehicle rolled over, killing 29-year-old Michael Butler of Winterport. The man, identified as Michael Butler, of Winterport, was reportedly deceased when deputies reached the scene.

At 1:20 a.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Loggin Road in Frankfort.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Deputies determined this to be a single vehicle crash as well, saying that the sedan "failed to negotiate a corner after exiting the bridge".
