Wall Street falls as investors flee risk on N. Korea concerns

The Japanese market was closed in observance of the Mountain Day holiday. While the German DAX Index has edged down by 0.1 percent, the French CAC 40 Index and the U.K.'s FTSE 100 Index are both down by 1 percent. Gold hit a two-month high of $1,278 an ounce amid the nervousness.

The Canadian dollar was trading at an average price of 78.67 cents US, down 0.04 of a USA cent. Against the euro, the dollar is valued at $1.826 compared to yesterday's $1.1772.
