'Pakistani applicants will get medical visas'

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj Tuesday said that India will grant medical visa in all the bonafide cases from Pakistan that are pending with the Indian government.

On the occasion of Independence Day, the Ministry of External Affairs announced that India will provide medical visas to all bona fide Pakistan patients.

India's decision to impose restrictions on medical visas for Pakistani nationals came in the wake of growing tensions between the two countries.

According to a figure provided by the government to the Parliament on July 26, India had so far issued 1,05,163 medical visas, many of them to Pakistani citizens.
