The eight-part Netflix series wastes no time getting into the action, but is somewhat slow picking up steam.

If you had told me two years ago that there would be a Netflix series where Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage take on an entire clan of immortal ninjas for the fate of NY, I would've lost my damn mind.

So where have you seen that image before?

If you're not familiar with them, then watching their stories get pieced together in "The Defenders" can be a bit of a slog. Marvel's Defenders is available to watch on Netflix.

To varying degrees, I'm among the latter.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic posts video to prove fitness ahead of Manchester United return
Ibrahimovic was officially released by United following the expiration of his lucrative one-year deal in June. Lukaku grabbed a brace on his debut last weekend, as they crushed West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford.

The new trailer clearly puts the focus on her character, as well enigmatic as to his real intentions than risky having regard to the means that she did not hesitate to use.

However, we the viewers are privy to some information no one else on the show has besides Alexandra and her doctor - she's dying of what seems to be cancer.

Also joining Weaver and the rest of the cast are supporting favourites from the characters' stand-alone series, including Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), and femme-fatale Elektra (Elodie Yung).

In the early episodes, Alexandra's ultimate aim is murky. Possibly. Probably not. We have five more episodes to find out. What a great introduction for everyone to meet.

We'll admit, we focused mostly on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, because we have favorites.

Intel CEO is third to exit Trump's manufacturing council after Charlottesville
But they also said they'd stay on the council so they could advise the government on ways to strengthen manufacturing. Hours after Frazier resigned, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank also said he was stepping down from the council.

Of course, The Defenders is the culmination of what Marvel has been working towards with these shows. The main characters bounce off each other beautifully, radiating a chemistry that would have been hard to develop for the limited screentime, but which still works out. Jessica Jones and Cage already have a history and Matt Murdock (Daredevil) is still very much the outsider. Jessica and Luke are still pissed at each other, Daredevil likes to work alone, and everybody is making fun of poor Iron Fist. That is practically a plot pre-requisite in these stories.

But with the whole series streamed and the dust settling, many fans may now be wondering whether there's another team-up in the gang's future - so we asked series showrunner Marco Ramirez if there was hope that The Defenders would rise again, and what other foes we could see them face in the future. Only Danny wants to.

If only there were no Iron Fist.

The character is excitable at times, but that makes sense.

In the comics, Danny Rand's wealthy parents died on an expedition into the Himalayas, while seeking the mystical city of K'un L'un. It's an interesting twist, especially when he is with three stoic types. She tracks each of the four heroes individual cuts and bruises in excruciating detail. Too shrewd to yield their secrets, too smart to need to, they were a little more brainy than bad-ass.

North Korea media grade South's Moon a 'fail'
The two sides have been enemies ever since the 1950-3 Korean War ended with an armistice - no peace treaty was ever signed. In the week following the conclusion of Ulchi Freedom Guardian in 2016, North Korea conducted its fifth nuclear test .

Undoubtedly, fans will analyze the series to death, but don't sweat it. We've known and loved Sigourney Weaver for more than 40 years. It may not be super, but it gets in its hits. Just go with it.
