Ubisoft announces Atomega, a PC exclusive shooter coming next week

GROW, EVOLVE AND BATTLE FOR DOMINANCE IN NEW UBISOFT GAME ATOMEGA

Their one internal incubator studio, Reflections, has been the lone exception, providing cutesy, artful titles such as Grow Home and Grow Up despite the likeliness they won't generate millions of dollars.

Atomega is an online multiplayer FPS that is set "at the very end of time where reality is rapidly dissolving". All that exists are Exoforms, super advanced post-biological lifeforms, masters of matter and energy and the last distant relative to man and machine. Mass is used to evolve an Exoform from the small and nimble Atom, into the big Omega - hence the name.

Ministers to vote on May's copycat European Union laws
If it passes as expected tonight, MPs can put forward numerous amendments to it later on. The votes are likely to take place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The more mass you get, the more points you acquire. It's a hell of a risk releasing a smaller scale shooter into the saturated PC market, so we'll see if Atomega can capture an audience on 19 September.

Atomega has a simple design and structure to its gameplay, but to give the game such a dystopian ennui in the machinations of these Exoforms show off the creative flexibility these Ubisoft developers bring to the table in this experimental game. You play the game while the world is about to end, as block creatures that are simply having fun playing this game in their final moments of living.

Irma causes flight delays and airport closures
The day will give the airport time to get personnel as numerous facility's 4000 workers were affected by the storm. United States correspondent Giles Gibson is in Fort Lauderdale where there's cleaning up after the devastation.

It isn't that often - outside of cases like Telltale's games - that a game is announced right before it is released, but that's the case with a new title that was just revealed by Ubisoft today. Competing for mass, players engage in a frantic battle for supremacy through intense 10-minute rounds, gathering up to eight players.
