This is when women lose interest in sex

Women are more likely than men to lose interest in sex with their longtime partners, according to a new study.

Their interest in sex tends to die down after a year living with the same partner, according to the largest study of sexual habits in the UK.

Cynthia Graham, professor of sexual and reproductive health at the University of Southampton, said the findings increased understanding of what lay behind men and women's lack of interest in sex and how to treat it. Factors contributing to this include poor health and lack of emotional intimacy, although these affected both men and women's desire for intercourse.

The researchers found that among those surveyed-4,839 British men and 6,669 women aged 16-74-34 percent of the women surveyed reported a loss of interest in sex, compared to just 15 percent of men.

However, the researchers explained that there was no evidence to suggest that this had anything to do with menopause, despite occurring around those ages in women.

Women Hit Google With Gender Bias Suit
The lawsuit comes on the heels of other allegations the company does not treat male and female employees equally, as the U.S. The suit aims to represent thousands of Google employees in California, and seeks lost wages and a slice of Google's profits.

Although people of both of these genders reported feeling less interested in sex, especially with age, women in relationships reported it happening much faster.

Relate sex therapist Ammanda Major said losing interest in sex wasn't necessarily abnormal, and there were many different reasons why men's and women's needs changed.

Want to spice up your sex life?

Those who had difficulties in the bedroom, and those who were unhappy in their relationships were more likely to say that they had lost interest in sex, the researchers said. However, if the problem is more about open communication and emotional closeness, talking to your partner may help more than taking a drug.

"For women in particular, the quality and length of relationship and communication with their partners are important in their experience of sexual interest". Other reasons which killed the desire to have sex included poor physical and mental health or if the partner has STD.

Why the U.S. government is moving to ban this Russian software company
Other experts, however, suggested that consumers should also uninstall Kaspersky software to avoid any potential risks. The U.S. government action raised the question of whether those users should follow the U.S. government's lead.

The researchers found interest in sex gradually declined with age among women, with 25 percent of 11 to 24-year-olds saying they were uninterested in sex, a rate that rose to 39 percent among 55 to 64-year-olds.

"This highlights the need to assess and - if necessary - treat sexual desire problems in a holistic and relationship-specific, as well as gender-specific way".

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the first-ever drug aimed at boosting female libido, called flibanserin.

Major, who was not involved in the study, told BBC that even though sex is a very personal thing, talking about it can be embarrassing.
