The soldier is reported to have tackled his attacker to the ground before he was arrested by armed police, the Independent reports.

In Paris, a knife-wielding man attacked police while shouting "Allah Akbar", while in Burgundy a hammer-wielding man attacked two women in a park while shouting ISIS slogans.

In an incident in Paris on Friday, a knife-wielding assailant was said to have been subdued by French soldiers after he attacked a soldier at a major subway location.
