He was killed yesterday (14 September) while on holiday with friends in Sri Lanka. After growing up in Thames Ditton, Surrey, he had graduated from Oxford with a first in French. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon when 24-year-old Paul McClean was taking surfing lessons at Elephant Rock near Arugam Bay, which is located on Sri Lanka's southeast coast.
