Trump, who once called climate change a "hoax", announced in June that his country will leave the the Paris Agreement.

However, after a meeting compiled of 30 world leaders from China as well as USA allies from the European Union and Canada, he may scrap that idea completely.

The deal, signed a year ago by President Barack Obama and 195 other nations, aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to fight climate change and curb "greenhouse" gases.

Trump administration officials have reportedly said the USA won't pull out of the Paris Agreement after all, according to a report published Saturday by The Wall Street Journal, citing statements from the European Union's top energy official.

Singapore Grand Prix gets new four-year F1 deal
Singapore joined the schedule in 2008 as the sport's inaugural night race, and in 2012 penned an extension through to 2017. "Difficult" and "challenging" are two of the most common words used by the drivers to describe the night race.

The White House quickly denied that it was changing its stance.

The Paris accord, reached by almost 200 countries, was meant to limit global warming to 2 degrees or less, mainly through pledges to cut carbon dioxide and other fossil-fuel emissions.

"There has been no change in the United States' position on the Paris agreement..."

"The shift from President Donald Trump's decision in June to renegotiate the landmark accord or craft a new deal came during a meeting of more than 30 ministers led by Canada, China and the European Union".

Retail Sales Dipped in August
Consumer spending is the main engine of the US economy, accounting for more than two-thirds of total economic output. Retail sales fell 0.2 per cent last month after a 0.3 per cent gain in July, the Commerce Department said Friday.

In her opening statement, Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna said these meetings are critical in order to show the world that the nations are bound together in fighting climate change.

"We should take actions now", Xie said, "to ensure that we can realize the goals that we have set".

Washington has said it would participate in United Nations climate change meetings during the withdrawal process, which is expected to take at least three years.

"The key issue is how we should combine climate actions with economic growth, the protection of people and job creation", he added.
