Science World Mourns End of Cassini's 20-Year Mission,

Smashing finale for successful NASA mission

Smashing finale for successful NASA mission

Taken on September 13, this image shows Saturn's active, ocean-bearing moon Enceladus setting behind the ringed plant.

According to NASA, the more recent revelation that a much smaller moon like Enceladus could also have not only liquid water, but also chemical energy that could potentially power biology, was staggering.

Cassini program manager Earl Maize said it was "a superb machine in an wonderful place". Cassini was also responsible for discovering six named moons, generating almost four thousand scientific papers, and taking roughly 453,000 photographs of celestial objects.

(NASA JPL) This animated video tells the story of Cassini's final, daring assignment and looks back at what the mission has accomplished. "Congratulations to the entire Cassini team!"

Before its final plunge into Saturn's atmosphere, Cassini had executed roughly four months of final orbits between the planet and its rings-something that had never been done before-and also took goodbye photographs of Saturn, Titan, and Enceladus, among others. During its 13 years long stay around Saturn, Cassini observed the birth of mini-moonlets in the rings of Saturn and spotted very big hurricanes on the planet's poles. Many scientists considered Cassini mission as an unbelievable one and were sad that the Cassini finally got destroyed, but they were confident that the valuable information, as well as the images that Cassini sent, would help them in future explorations and considered it as the beginning of a new chapter.

At roughly 4:45 Pacific Daylight Time this morning, Cassini vanished into Saturn's multicolored clouds.

Netflix's 'Narcos' Producer Murdered in Mexico
Portal was a highly respected and sought-after location scout with credits that include the films Sicario and Fast & Furious. Mr Portal is reported to have been killed on Monday, but the news of his death only broke last night (SAT).

As planned, data from eight of Cassini's science instruments was beamed back to Earth.

The unmanned aircraft Cassini ended her mission orbiting Planet Saturn.

The spacecraft dove into the planet's atmosphere on 15 Sept, '17 and sent its last signal back on Earth at 7:55 am EDT, before losing contact with NASA's space station back in the US, and disappearing forever to become a part of the planet itself, as the spacecraft burned like a meteor in the planet's atmosphere.

Singapore Grand Prix gets new four-year F1 deal
Singapore joined the schedule in 2008 as the sport's inaugural night race, and in 2012 penned an extension through to 2017. "Difficult" and "challenging" are two of the most common words used by the drivers to describe the night race.

The spacecraft's final signal was like an echo. These type of results have excited the scientists, and they are now focusing more on the exploration of icy oceans of the solar system, and for that, a mission has been finalized to begin from 2020 targeted towards the investigation of conditions for life on Europa, the moon of Jupiter. "It will be at least a decade until we have another similar spacecraft, if serious work is started now", planetary scientist Seth Jacobson said in a statement.
