Carmen Yulin Cruz, Mayor of capital city San Juan, directly begged Trump for help during a press conference on Friday (29Sep17) after the Caribbean island, a USA territory, was devastated by Hurricane Maria last month (Sep17).

Cruz and San Juan residents responded to Trump's criticism. But on that front, she ran into winds as fierce as Maria.

The Mayor emerged and told us what had happened supported her plea for help to stop people dying - the comments that so annoyed Mr Trump.

Munro said the union has heard from more than 100 truckers who have offered to help, and The Teamsters is working to vet those drivers and ensure they have the proper licenses and availability.

Thousands more Puerto Ricans have received water and rationed food as an aid bottleneck has begun to ease. "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose parents moved to NY from Puerto Rico, took his shot on Twitter, saying: "You're going straight to hell, @realDonaldTrump. I wasn't saying anything nasty about the president", she told the MSNBC host.

"We're certainly bringing in more", Lieutenant General Jeffrey Buchanan said on Friday, a day after he was appointed by the Pentagon to oversee the USA response.

Trump's turning on the San Juan mayor comes after she blasted his Homeland Security chief's referring to the relief efforts as "a good news story", with roads getting cleared and most of the island now accessible.

"Big decisions will have to be made as to the cost of its rebuilding!"

He has also claimed that the island's governor Ricardo Rossello has praised the Trump administration's response.

"We are dying here, and I can not fathom the thought that the greatest nation in the world can not figure out logistics for a small island", she said, adding: "(If) we don't get the food and water into people's hands, we are going to see something close to a genocide.

The President stirred things up with a series of tweets Saturday from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is spending the weekend. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.
