Instead of rescheduling an interview with Mariah Carey about her upcoming holiday tour of the United Kingdom, the program-hosted by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid-opted to forge ahead and ask the pop star about the tragedy.

Carey, who had no idea about the extent of the violence, tried to respond. Others, though, had sympathy for Carey, noting it was an uncomfortable spot for her.

Viewers have criticised Good Morning Britain today (October 2) for going ahead with a pre-booked Mariah Carey interview in the wake of last night's Las Vegas shootings. Really, they're out for the night and something like this happens.

The "Hero" singer went on to speak out via Twitter.

The theme of the interview then changed when the hosts learned about the shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas.

In the Face of Piers Morgan, Mariah Carey has sent its thoughts and prayers to the victims. She was on GMB to discuss a Christmas tour not the Las Vegas shooting. "Praying for everyone's safety".

Following the interview, Carey took to Twitter to offer her condolences to the victims of the shooting.

After receiving backlash for seemingly blindsiding Carey, Morgan tweeted his take on the incident. Caught her off guard.

"Finding #gmb in bad taste this morning, breaking Vegas news to Mariah Carey looking for some sort of scoop or reaction", tweeted one person. "It's not her fault she was blind-sided".

Mariah was seen in her home in Beverly Hills sprawled on her chaise lounge in a burgundy gown with a Christmas tree behind her.

Police are now believed to have neutralised a shooter from inside the hotel, and have confirmed that he was a resident from the Las Vegas area.

"We told Mariah" s people before the interview. He asked, "what's your reaction, just on ahuman level, to concertgoers, people who love performers like yourself, being targeted in this way?"
